Record temperatures in the North
The official weather station in the town of Karasjok in the county of Finnmark, on the last day of May registered 30.5 degrees C, the highest temperature for the day in Europe.
Jon-Inge Hansen at the Norwegian Met Office says Northern Norway never has experienced a warmer day in May.
The high temperatures in the region will last through the weekend, but will drop from Monday.
