Please don't give Putin propagandists a platform on your media platforms. There is a time and place for hearing two sides of an issue. This tragic moment in European history is not one of them. Do not give false equivalency to voices of evil and voices of good.

I haven’t heard of anything this ridiculous out of Stanford University since the Dr Fred Schwarz Christian Anti-Communist Crusade, which visited the campus in 1962, and was the occasion of a protest sign composed by a roommate: Besser rot als schwarz.
I spent the day reading and listening to news and opinion about the war in Ukraine, not, by the way, something that started today. I came at the end of my studies, also not begun today, to this conclusion. It’s a little complicated, but please bear with me.
Ukraine is of vital security interest to Russia. Ukraine is not of vital security interest of the US. Security interests are the most important concerns of any nation. Therefore, it does not seem like a wise decision for this nation to get involved in one more civil war in someone else’s country, Ukraine, particularly when the country borders on Russia, estimated at this point to be the best nuclear-armed country in the world.
The article by Joe Lauria and the talk by Glenn Greenwald yesterday were very valuable, I thought.
Long live freedom of thought, expression, and a free press in America!

What Putin Says Are the Causes & Aims of Russia’s Military Action

Russia says it has no intentions of controlling Ukraine and its military operation is only to “demilitarize” and “de-Nazify” Ukraine in an action taken after 30 years of the U.S. pushing Russia too far, writes Joe Lauria.
