Virus notes: June 7, 2020

MERCED (BLJ) – Merced County Public Health Department announced that as of June 5 there were 334 cases of COVID 19 (14 new), and seven deaths.

California reported 126,016 cases (3,115 new) and 4,559 deaths (74 new).

The global count for June 7 is 6,981,701 cases  (124,843 new) and 401,933 deaths (3,612 new).

The United States reported 1,997,899 cases  (18,890 new) and 112,054 deaths (680 new).

Brazil reports 691,962 cases (15,468 new) and 36,499 deaths (455 new).  Associated Press reported today that Brazil has ceased publishing its running totals of cases and deaths.

Russia reported 467,673 cases (8,984 new) and 5,859 deaths (134 new).

The United Kingdom reported 286,194 cases (1,326 new) and 40,542 deaths (77 new).
