Update at 2:01pm:  The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office indicates a Detwiler Fire community meeting is now scheduled for this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Greeley Hill Community Club.
The address of that venue is 10332 Fiske Road in Greeley Hill. The event was rescheduled from earlier in the week when a flare-up within the fire required concentrated efforts. CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 4, the Mariposa County Sherriff’s Office and additional cooperating agencies will provide an operational briefing and be available for questions.
Update at 1:27pm: During today’s Detwiler Fire response efforts CAL OES released a graphic depicting California’s Mutual Aid system at work.
The info-graphic (viewable in the image box slideshow) illustrates one element of Mutual Aid; firefighting assistance reflected in the number and origin of fire engines onsite.
Of 342 engines assigned to the incident this morning, CAL OES indicates that while more than half are affiliated with the local Mariposa County government, over a quarter are from CAL Fire — and the remaining balance (17 percent in this case) is being provided through the auspices of CAL OES, in tandem with federal and other state agencies.
Mountain View Fire Department further demonstrates the spirit of Mutual Aid support in an image caught by a personnel member of crew members (also shared in our image box slideshow), who made sure during their Detwiler Fire assistance efforts to look out for the needs of some thirsty local horses.
Update at 11:30am: The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has lifted Detwiler Fire-related evacuation orders for a few more areas.
These are Dogtown Road from Wagner to Holtzel Road; Ernst Road, including all side roads; Wagner Road, including all side roads; Schilling Road, including all side roads; Holtzel Road, including all side roads; also the Briceburg area between River Road from Briceburg and North Fork Falls, including all Briceburg area campgrounds.
Officials say these areas remain under an evacuation advisory and folks need to remain aware that fire crews and heavy fire-fighting equipment are working on direct fire lines in these areas so please drive with caution.
All other evacuation orders remain in effect. This includes Texas Hill Road, Dogtown Road east of Holtzel Road, and Old Yosemite/Bull Creek Road. Road closures include Dogtown Road at Holzel Road; Texas Hill Road at Dogtown Road, and Old Yosemite/Bull Creek Road.
